Systems & Support Engineer 1

Job Description:
  • Systems & Support Engineer 1 provides professional and skilled technical services and support to Peak-Ryzex’s internal clients. This position interacts daily with Peak-Ryzex employees through various channels including email, phone, portal, and direct interaction.  Responsible for logging and tracking assigned incidents and service requests through resolution.  Accountable for maintaining the appropriate level of communication with the client and other IT staff.  Availability during non-business hours for a rotating after-hours support line is required.
 
More specifically, this position is an in-office position in our Alpharetta facility and will be Tier 1 support for warehouse and staging operations assisting with imaging utility setup, work area config/reconfig, connectivity, etc.This position will also be responsible for initial imaging of Peak-Ryzex workstations for North America employee; working with the Client Services team to load standard software and configurations for new hires and replacements.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
  • On your own authority -
    • Respond to user requests to troubleshoot and resolve PC/Application issues to best meet user’s needs and expectations
    • Assess and determine if escalation of issue is necessary
    • Moves, adds and changes as requested in accordance with procedures created by client support manager and/or systems manager
    • Image/Reimage laptops for distribution
  • Tasks requiring the support of other employees -
    • Resolution of network based or organization wide issues
    • Scheduled maintenance of hardware and applications
    • Configure laptops for distribution
    • Maintain Inventory count of available hardware for distribution
  • Tasks requiring approval of higher authority -
    • Acquisition of hardware/software
    • Recommendation of hardware/software solutions
    • Changes to networking or server infrastructure that could potentially impact core services
    • Downtime of any services during those services working hours.
Job Requirements
 
  • Education Requirements
    • Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology or related field or
    • CompTIA A+ or Network+ Certification and 2 years of relevant IT experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of PC Computer systems and operating systems
  • Must be Customer Service-focused
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP network protocol to assist with troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with common desktop applications such as Office 365, Adobe Acrobat and troubleshooting client issues with said applications
  • Communicate resolution to users as well as the ability to train users to better utilize IT resources.
